IMPHAL, Apr 6 : YCC, Wangkhei defeated LCC, Lamsang by 6 wickets for their third win in the Group B competition of the 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
With the win, YCC finished group runners up behind YWC-L on 6 points and eventually squeezed into the quarterfinals.
LCC won the toss and opted to bat first today. They amassed 162 runs for the loss of the 5 wickets thanks to an unbeaten half century from Tikendrajit (51 off 34) and contributions from Rakesh Sharma 34 off 35 and Y Dutta 27 off 28.
YCC however chased down the target in 17.4 overs with 6 wickets left to spare as L Everest 55 not out off 40 and Laishram Sanjit 38 not out off 28 produced an unbeaten 5th wicket partnership after Pritam 27 off 11 and Loyangamba 14 off 16 set up the momentum.
Earlier in the first innings, L Everest claimed three wickets (3/21) as L Bidur and Itombi picked a wicket apiece.
For LCC, Rajiv claimed two wickets (2/36) as Michael and Romendro chipped in with a wicket apiece in a lost cause.
L Everest who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
