1st MNCA U-23 Women's One Day Trophy THAU hammer AKSDO by 7 wickets for second straight Group A win

IMPHAL, Apr 5 : THAU, Thangmeiband pulled off their second straight Group A victory in the 1st MNCA U-23 Women's One Day Trophy by beating AKSDO, Khangabok by 7 wickets.
AKSDO opted to bat first at THAU ground, Thangmeiband  but were bundled out for a lowly total of 74 runs in 27.1 overs before THAU took 14.5 overs to seal the target with 7 wickets left to spare.
AKSDO batters had a forgetful day at THAU ground as they fell easy prey to Naoroibam Sophiya (2/5), Moirangthem Creety (2/4) and Ahongsangbam Thoithoibi (2/11) of THAU. Only Khundrakpam Rabina  18 off 36, was the double digit run getter for the Khangabok team in this innings.
In reply, THAU suffered early setbacks and were reduced to 8/2 in 3.5 overs as Kh Rabina and Thokchom Langlen picked a wicket apiece. But, Usham Robeni  21 not out off 40 and M Creety 25 off 25 resurrected the chase before Robeni and A Thoithoibi 16 not out off 11 finished off the chase.
M Creety was named player of the match.
Elsewhere at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, PCC, Mayaikoibi opened their Group B winning account after their first game defeat by beating PTRC, Patsoi by 50 runs.
PCC slumped to 113 all out in 28.4 overs after opting to bat first but successfully defended their by dismissing PTRC for 63 runs on the back of Hemam Lingjen Devi, who enjoyed a fifer (5/20 in 6.1 overs) and Nongthombam Langlenthoibi, who claimed three wickets (3/8 in 5 overs).
Earlier in the first innings, L Lingthoingambi (3/20 in 6 overs), Konsam Sayatombi (2/9 in 5.4 overs), Laitonjam Tolika (2/18 in 6 overs) and Palujam Kiranbala (2/28 in 7 overs) of PTRC shared 9 crucial wickets before they produced a dismal chase.
Hemam Lingjel who led in dismantling PTRC line up was adjudged player of the match.
