FLAK, VSAI roll on in 23rd Challenge Cup

IMPHAL, Apr 4 : FLAK, Kyamgei and VSAI, Thangmeiband secured victories in today's matches of the 23rd Challenge Cup, Veterans' Football Tournament being organised by the Manipur Veteran Football Association at SAI NERC ground, Takyel.
FLAK won 6-2 against TRVSA, Malom to seal their second win and maintained their three game unbeaten run in the Group B competition.
S Somananda (10', 28'), Kh Romen (42'), L Sursen (44'), N Gandhi (59') and N Deven (60+3') scored for the Kyamgei team as S Nandakeshwar (13') and Ch Tilo (55') found the target for TRVSA.
Later in the day, VSAI secured their spot in the quarterfinals from Group C as they crushed AMBA FC 6-1 for the second win in three matches after their first game draw.
Khupneingam (15'), M Bimolchandra (18'), S Santa (23'), M Bidyasagar (27'), P Romesh (42') and N Rajesh (55') found their names on the scoresheet to set up the huge win for VSAI as Salam Jiban scored the consolation goal for AMBA FC in the 50th minute.
