2nd Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Boicha blazes 62-ball 133 as REYS seal 109-run victory

IMPHAL, Apr 4 : Boicha blazed an unbeaten 133 off 62 balls to inspire REYS, Nagamapal a huge 109-run victory against CYCLONE, Thangmeiband in a Group C match of the ongoing 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament.
Boicha's unbeaten fired REYS, who opted to bat first to a commanding total of 219 for 6  and restricted CYCLONE to 110/8 in reply to seal their fourth straight victory and qualify for the knock-out round.
Sagatpam Jayenta 23 and Ng Kenny 21 also made significant contributions to the REYS's tally in the first innings that saw Lamnganba (2/21), Narjit (1/34), Tarun (1/30), Ph Robindro (1/45) and W Surjit (1/45) of CYCLONE sharing 6 wickets.
In reply, Arun 39, Sashikumar 18 and I Khoga 14 led the scoring for CYCLONE as Dhawan (2/14) and Y Deepak (2/25) led the bowling attack of REYS.
Boicha was adjudged man of the match.
Earlier in the day, YWC completed Group B league stage sweep by handing UCC, Uripok a 7-wicket defeat. Toss winners UCC posted 100/7 after electing to bat first despite Bikramjit's 40-ball 40 as YWC bowling attack led by M Priyokumar (2/5) proved economical.
Pukhrambam Prakashmani then anchored with an unbeaten 39 off 40 balls to take YWC to the winning 104/3 in 16.2 overs. Laishram Manaobi also added 29 off 33 to help YWC seal the easy win as A Ramesh, L Birat and Manglem picked a wicket apiece for UCC.
Prakashmani, who also picked a wicket earlier, was declared man of the match.
