IMPHAL, Apr 1 : Imphal Riding Club were crowned champions of the 3rd Chittamohini State Women's Cup-2025 organised by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In a closely contested final match staged in yesterday's afternoon, Imphal Riding Club beat Assam Rifles Women's Polo Team by 7-6 goals to seal the top honour.
Imphal Riding Club and Assam Rifles Women's Polo Team were neck and neck adding three goals apiece in the opening half before adding one goal apiece in the second chukker to remain locked at 4-4.
Imphal Riding Club however took a 6-5 lead in the third chukker before seeing out the game 7-6.
M Priya, Th Tanna and Kh Habe managed two goals apiece for the winning side as Kh Deventy added one. On the other hand, Mutum Enourembi scored thrice as Oinam Veronica added twice and Oinam Victoria added one for Assam Rifles Women's Polo Team.
Imphal Riding Club were felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy while runners up Assam Rifles Women's Polo Team settled for a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a trophy.
Best scorer and other participating teams- MPSC and Ibudhou Pakhangba Polo Team were also feted with cash prize of Rs 3,000 each.
The closing function of the 4-team tournament was attended by Khel Ratna Awardee N Kunjarani; Lt Col L Manongba, president Manipur Equestrian Association; Brig A Boral, DIG, 9 Sector Assam Rifles and Retd Associate Professor N Radharani as presidium members who also led in distributing prizes to the winners and participants.
