Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket YWC see off KCC, REYS knock out NAPSA to complete final line up

IMPHAL, Apr 13 : YWC, Langthabal defeated KCC, Kongba by 18 runs while REYS, Nagamapal trounced NAPSA, Kha Imphal by 74 runs in today's semi-final matches of the ongoing 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament.
In the first semi-final match, YWC opted to bat first and posted 147 runs for 9 wickets before restricting KCC to 129/7 in reply.
Laishram Sasi produced an unbeaten knock of 51 off 38 overs to lead YWC to 147 in an innings that saw S Robertson (3/27) and Devan (2/30) of KCC sharing 5 wickets. In reply, Samukcham Robertson topscored with 45 runs off 41 balls and H Kiran remained unbeaten on a 23-ball 30 but their efforts fell short as they ended up collecting only 129 runs.
L Sasi picked two wickets and conceded 17 runs in the second innings as Prakashmani, L Tejkumar and S Kumarjit aided more teeth by claiming a wicket apiece.
L Sasi of YWC was declared man of the match.
Later in the second semi-final match, REYS racked up a huge total of 238 runs for 2 wickets after opting to bat first and held NAPSA to 164/8 in reply to enter the final in style.
 Sagatpam Jayenta  produced a masterful knock of 125 not out off just 68 balls and Boicha provided an able assistance of an unbeaten 72 off 36 balls to help REYS register the huge total before Ng Kenny (3/23 in 4 overs) and S Jayenta (2/24 in 3 overs) shared 5 crucial wickets to throttle the chase even as Irengbam Ibobi 34 off 19 and Ch Somorendro 45 off 33 gave NAPSA a promising start. T Gopal and Bhogendra picked a wicket apiece for NAPSA earlier in the first innings.
S Jayenta who shone with both the bat and ball was declared man of the match.
The final match is slated for April 18 at Langthabal Public Ground.
