IMPHAL, Apr 13 : Thokchom Alish produced an all-round performance to earn AKSDO, Khangabok a huge 158 run victory against Al-Ameen, Lilong in a Group A match of the 1st MNCA U-23 Women's One Day Trophy.
It was second win for AKSDO in four matches but they are already out of the race for the semi-final with THAU, Thangmeiband and PTCC, Patsoi having sealed four of four wins to qualify for the semis.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Alish Thokchom scored a 61-ball 72 (10 fours and 1 six) and forged a 70-run partnership with Ningthoujam Langlen 47 off 55 balls for the third wicket to help AKSDO post 238 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 35 overs. AKSDO then restricted Al-Ameen to 80/5 in response with the help of frugal bowling performances.
Moirangthem Daina 23 off 29, Ningthoujam Taniya 18 off 27 and Khundrakpam Alebia 10 off 12 also managed double digit scores for AKSDO in their innings that saw Al-Ameen bowlers conceding as many as 59 extras.
Farhana was the pick of the Al-Ameen bowlers finishing with the best figures of 3/32 in her spell of 7 overs while Khulem Linthoi finished with 2/48 in 7 overs. Sanjida, Najiya Begum and Laishram Langlenthoibi also picked a wicket apiece.
Chasing the big target of 239 runs, Najiya Begum 22 off 57 emerged the only double digit figures as AKSDO bowling attack led by Khundrakpam Bijiya (2/7 in 7 overs), Thokchom Alish (2/16 in 7 overs) and Thokchom Langlen (1/12 in 5 overs).
Kh Rabina, L Linthoi, Th Langlen, Kh Lucyrani were also all economical with the ball today maintaining below 3-run per over economy today.
Alish who starred with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
