Huidrom Bhumeshwori races to 800 m gold at Indian Grand Prix-1

IMPHAL, Mar 29 : Huidrom Bhumeshwori continued to shine at National level athletics competition as she cruised to the 800 m race gold at the Indian Grand Prix-1 yesterday at Kengeri, SAI, NSSC, Bangalore.
Bhumeshwori clocked 2:06.49 to top the women's 800 m race as Chhattisgarh's Thota Sankeertana (2:07.39) and Uttar Pradesh's Vineeta Gurjar (2:09.62) finished second and third.
Bhumeshwori hails from Huidrom Awang Leikai, Imphal East and is the youngest of the three siblings (two elder brothers) born to late Huidrom Basanta and Huidrom Ongbi Mangi Devi.
She had earlier won many medals in the National and Inter University Championships.
