IMPHAL, Mar 29 : CRAU, Khamnam Bazar crushed AMCA, Thoubal by 160 runs in a Group A match of the ongoing 2nd U-23 Men's Haobam Biramangol Memorial Trophy 2024-25 at Lairenjam Public Ground.
CRAU opted to bat first and raised 260 for 10 in 36.5 overs thanks to Heisnam Joyhenba 62 off 66, Ph Jodash 43 off 34, Azhar 37 off 47 and Thongam Joychandra 28 off 24 before bundling out AMCA for 100 runs in 32 overs riding on exemplary bowling performances from Khumanthem Prakash (4/16 in 8 overs) and Bm Sabakhan (3/19 in 8 overs). For AMCA, Thoubalmayum Mustakin (4/49), Maibam Anish (3/24) and Altaj (2/48) produced best bowling performances before their batting department faltered badly in the chase.
Moichingmayum Md Anash on 20 was the highest run getter among four double digit run getters for AMCA.
Khumanthem Prakash of CRAU was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, Al-Ameen, Lilong beat CHAMP, Khagempalli by 41 runs for the fourth straight Group B victory.
Al-Ameen erected a competitive total of 233 runs for all wickets down after opting to bat first and successfully defended their total by bowling out CHAMP for 192 runs in 35.5 overs despite half centuries from Nawaz (56 off 41) and Samir (94-ball 83).
Earlier in the Al-Ameen innings, Th Boboicha 59 off 37 and Md Sharoz Khan 58 off 67 managed half centuries as Nawaz (4/33), Md Babu (3/31) and Afjal Khan (2/28) led the CHAMP bowling attack.
For Al-Ameen, Kh Hanif (3/33) and Shohel Akter (3/40) and FM Sakil Ahamed (2/47) shared 8 wickets to set up the 41-run victory.
In a Group C match staged at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College playground, SCCC ended their league campaign with a 127-run victory against TRAU after suffering four straight losses.
Meanwhile, TCMDC, Thongju kept their quarterfinal hopes alive by beating THAU, Thangmeiband by 9 wickets in a Group D match at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.
