NAPSA, LCCC emerge victorious in Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament

IMPHAL, Mar 26 : NAPSA, Kha Imphal sealed a 5-wicket win over SNC, Sangaiprou while LCCC, Lilong Chajing overcame CHAMP, Khagempalli by 4 wickets in today's matches of the ongoing 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament.
In the 18th match of the tournament, SNC gathered 145/7 after opting to bat first courtesy of Ch Thawainganba's 41-ball 51 but NAPSA rode on Irengbam Ibobi's 55-ball 55 and contributions from Ch Somorendro 28, L Premananda 17 and Ratan 22 not out to complete the target in the last ball thriller with 5 wickets left to spare.
T Gopal 3/34 and Johni 2/32 led the NAPSA bowling attack as Th Bishorjit 2/29 and Albert 2/26 shared four wickets apiece.
I Ibobi who hit a half century and picked a wicket was named man of the match.
Later in the day, LCCC chased down a target of 165 runs in 18.2 overs with 4 wickets left to spare after CHAMP opted to bat first and piled up 164/2.
Pheiroijam Hemanta 50 off 36 and A Sanjoy 57 off 33 produced a good second wicket partnership to steer CHAMP to the competitive total but major contributions from Ningthoujam Shibadatta 49 off 30, W Srinivas 32 off 24, Sagolshem Kison 29 not out off 16 and Amarjit 25 off 27 pushed LCCC to the target.
S Kison 1/17 and Amarjit 1/34 were among the wickets for LCCC as T Sudhir (2/29) and Babloo Sharma (2/28) shared four wickets for CHAMP in a lost cause.
S Kison was eventually declared man of the match.
