AMOFA Academy beat RFCC 3-1 in 15th Loktak Trophy opener

IMPHAL, Mar 26 : AMOFA Academy, Moirang beat RFCC, Keinou by 3-1 goals in the opening match (Group B) of the 15th Loktak Trophy U-17 Boys Football Tournament organised by AMOFA Moirang at Moirang Multipurpose Hr Secondary School playground.
The tournament sponsored by NHPC Ltd Loktak Power Station is featuring 6 teams clubbed into two groups. Top two teams from each group will progress into the last-four stage before the final encounter.
AMOFA Academy had a slow start to the game and broke the deadlock courtesy of N Dhanaraj after 33rd minute before Girijenel (54') and Kh Uttam (55') further extended the lead to 3-0. O Belton scored the consolation goal for RFCC in the 81st minute. With RFCC failing to further reduce the margin, AMOFA Academy closed out the game 3-1 and sealed all three points.
TYDA will play YSWA in the Group A opener on March 28 at the same venue. The match starts at 2.30 pm.
The inaugural function of the tournament was graced by Dr Mairembam Chandra, Principal, Imphal College; Ningthoujam Joy, Principal, Moirang College and Tapas Ranjan Behera, HR, Loktak Project as presidium members.
