IMPHAL, Mar 20: TCMDC Thongju II Pechu Lampak, ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound, FORCE Khsetrigao and YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel emerged victorious in today's league matches of the 2nd MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25.
TCMDC Thongju II Pechu Lampak beat BLUE HAWK Khurai Lamlong by 8 wickets.
BLUE HAWK amassed a total of 138 runs for 10 wickets in 26.1 overs.
TCMDC completed the chase and knocked a winning 140 runs for 2 wickets in 23.4 overs.
ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound beat SHADOW Thangmeiband by 2 runs.
ESU scored a total of 115 for 10 wickets in 27.2 overs.
SHADOW managed to score only 113 runs for all wickets down in 33.4 overs.
FORCE Kshetrigao beat SCCC Singjamei Thongam Leikai by 5 runs.
FORCE scored 232 for 10 wickets in 39.3 overs.
Despite Ulenyai Khwairakpam's massive 124 runs off 94 balls, SCCC ended up scoring 227 runs for 10 wickets in 37 overs--5 runs short of a draw.
YUCC crushed YPHUC by 210 runs.
YUCC scored a massive 271 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs.
Facing an impressive YUCC, YPHUC managed to score only 61 runs for 10 wickets in 25 overs.
TCMDC vs BLUE HAWK
At Public Ground Khangabok Part-III Cherapur, BLUE HAWK won the toss and opted to bat first.
The team's hope for a good start however, was met with an early devastating blow as Nandakishor fell quickly, scoring zero.
Having tasted first blood, an ignited TCMDC mounted pressure on the BLUE HAWK and dismissed Nitish (5 runs off 6 balls).
Desperate to keep the game afloat for BLUE HAWK, Wangmayum Farid, Manas and Samsung Meitei Heisnam took measures and together they scored 97 runs off 105 balls.
Manas scored the most for the team at 40 runs off 45 balls.
Wangmayaum Farid scored 23 off 26 balls, and Samsung Meitei Heisnam scored 34 runs off 34 balls.
Soon after TCMDC players dismissed them one after another, BLUE HAWK wickets crumbled quickly, scoring only 138 runs in 26.1 overs.
Of the remaining batsmen, Nongdamba Khunjamayum (9 runs off 17 balls) and Aribam (1 run off 16 balls) could contribute runs.
TCMDC's Kong-brailatpam Kalyan Sharma and Laishram Vivekananda Singh took 3 wickets each. Rain Urikhimbam, Vishonath Laishram, Laishram Valindra Singh, and N Arbin Singh took one wicket each.
In TCMDC's chase for the target and winning knock of 140 runs in 23.4 overs, they lost only two wickets, Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma (42 runs off 50 balls) and Waikhom Mathoi Meitei (5 runs off 16 balls).
Undefeated Laishram Vivekananda knocked 44 runs off 56 balls and Rain Urikhimbam knocked 26 runs off 21 balls.
Samsung Meitei Heisnam and Aribam Rr Sharma took the two TCMDC wickets.
ESU vs SHADOW
At Moijing Public Ground Thoubal, SHADOW's Arubam Goshan Singh displayed stellar performance dismissing 6 ESU wickets, but it didn't help them win the match.
SHADOW won the toss and opted to field first.
Facing splendid bowling from SHADOW, ESU could score only 115 runs for 10 wickets in 27.2 overs.
Only Devashree G and Akoijam Sangba Singh managed to score 2-digit runs for ESU.
Devashree G knocked 38 runs off 63 balls and Akoijam Sangba Singh knocked 38 runs off 48 balls.
Hanjabam Donba Sharma (1 run off 11 balls), Soibam Sayonba Singh (4 runs off 4 balls), Soibam Venus Singh (1 run off 8 balls), Sagolshem Ronal Meitei (3 runs off 7 balls), Thokchom Simesh (9 runs off 11 balls), Bishomcha Khundrakpam (1 run off 6 balls) and Thongam Jamesbond (1 run off 3 balls) contributed runs to ESU's total score of 115 in 27.2 overs.
SHADOW's Arubam Goshan Singh took a massive 6 wickets. Sagatpam Telheiba and Kh Devis took one wicket each.
While the team did splendidly in fielding, SHADOW performed poorly on the pitch in their chase and succumbed at only 113 runs for 10 wickets in 33.4 overs.
Yendrembam Bharatngamba Meitei (33 runs off 51 balls) scored the most runs for SHADOW.
Kh Devis (3 runs off 8 balls), Sagatpam Lanchenba (9 runs off 13 balls), Arubam Goshan Singh (13 runs off 37 balls), Sagatpam Telheiba (12 runs off 34 balls), Thoudam Lanchenba (13 runs off 36 balls), Chinglemba Haobam (5 runs off 8 balls) and Aribam Ganaraj Sharma (2 runs off 6 balls) contributed runs.
ESU's Thokchom Simesh took 4 wickets. Bishomcha Khundrakpam took 2 wickets. Hanjabam Naoba Sharma, Soibam Sayonba Singh and Hanjabam Donba Sharma took one wicket each.
FORCE vs SCCC
At Khudeiband Lampak Taothong, FORCE won the toss and opted to bat first to score 232 runs for 10 wickets in 39.3 overs.
Rohid displayed fine batting, scoring 63 runs off 58 balls.
Naeem NA7 (32 runs off 45 balls), Umar Sheikh (2 runs off 4 balls), Zahid Sheikh (6 runs off 7 balls), Zaheer Khan (42 runs off 53 balls), Syed Fayaz (12 runs off 27 balls), Juma Khan (10 runs off 18 balls), MD Shakir Ali (16 runs off 9 balls), Zahir Abbas Hussain (17 runs off 12 balls), Zahir Akhtar (3 runs off 4 balls) and Md Akaman (1 run off 2 balls) contributed runs to FORCE's 232 runs in 39.3 overs.
SCCC's Syed Hanif took 3 wickets. Basant and Ulenyai Khwairakpam took 2 wickets each. Khaidem Joyraj Meitei, Lishan Meitei Khaidem and Moirangthem Johnson took one wicket each.
In SCCC's competitive but failed chase for the target, Ulenyai Khwairakpam displayed exceptional batting skills and scored a massive 124 off 94 balls.
Ulenyai's splendid performance, however, proved to be futile as his team-mates dropped one after another.
Konthoujam Tomthinganba Singh (8 runs off 20 balls), Lishan Meitei Khaidem (17 runs off 15 balls), Jimmy Oinam (16 runs off 37 balls), Khaidem Joyraj Meitei (8 runs off 20 balls) and Syed Hanif (21 runs off 27 balls) contributed runs to SCCC's failed knock of 227 runs in 37 overs.
FORCE's Naeem NA7 took 3 wickets. Zaheer Khan took 2 wickets. Zahir Abbas Hussain and MD Shakir Ali took one wicket each.
YUCC vs YPHUC
At Lairenjam Public Ground, YUCC Kwakeithel Moirangpurel won the toss and opted to bat first to amass a massive 271 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs.
Khundrakpam Punisiba Mangang shone as he struck 51 runs off 54 balls.
M Amitkiyon displayed fine batting and scored 47 runs off 48 balls.
Prithibiraj laishram (35 runs off 41 balls), Ningthoujam Thoungamba Meitei (33 runs off 39 balls), Ningthoujam Rohit Singh (15 runs off 21 balls), Laishram Bidyashwor Singh (4 runs off 6 balls), Kadamjit Moirangthem (13 runs off 11 balls), Ningthoujam Sanjit Singh (14 runs off 13 balls) and Devraj Nongthombam (21 runs off 11 balls) contributed runs to YUCC's 271 runs in 40 overs.
YPHUC's Birbal Irom and Irom Sunny Singh took 3 wickets. Maisnam Naseer Singh took 2 wickets. Irom Ishor took one wicket.
In YPHUC's failed bid to chase the target, only Irom Ishor (11 runs off 32 balls) and Bishworaj Sharma (22 runs off 21 balls) managed to score 2-digit runs.
Gurumayum Prince Sharma (4 runs off 40 balls), Konsam Mangal Singh (1 run off 6 balls), Jangammei Maringmei (7 runs off 19 balls), Birbal Irom (3 runs off 10 balls) and Purujit Mutum (2 runs off 12 balls) contributed runs to YPHUC's knock of just 61 runs 25 overs.
YUCC's Khundrakpam Punsiba took 3 wickets. Prithibiraj Laishram and Rahulkumar Ningthoujam took 2 wickets each. Somraj Sanjit Singh and Devraj Laishram took one wicket each.
