CHAMP, RNEF emerge victorious in Veteran T20

IMPHAL, Mar 20: CHAMP Khagempalli beat YAC Yaiskul, and RNEF (MICA) Mayang Imphal beat UCC Uripok in today's league matches of the 2nd Khomdram (O) Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2025.
In the first league match of the day at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West, YAC Yaiskul won the toss and elected to bat first to amass 126 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, CHAMP Khagempalli scored 127 runs for 4 wickets in 12.5 overs to win the match.
In YAC's knock of 126 runs, Rakesh Thoudam (8 runs off 11 balls), Th Chitaranjan (4 runs off 8 balls), Rohit (4 runs off 3 balls), Thoudam James (17 runs off 13 balls), Sougaijam Anil (7 runs off 13 balls), Chirom Chandrakumar (29 runs off 32 balls), Yambem Khwaingamba (28 runs off 28 balls) and Satrajit (10 runs off 11 balls) contributed runs.
CHAMP's S John, Thomas and Bablee Sharma took 2 wickets each. T Sudhir and Tomthang took one wicket each.
In CHAMP's winning knock of 127 runs,  A Gopeshor displayed fine batting and scored 51 runs off 31 balls.
Bablee Sharma, who was named the man of the match, scored 39 runs off 28 balls.
Geet Lairenjam (16 runs off 6 balls), Rocket Khangembam (9 runs off 6 balls), Sanjoy Ningthoujam (4 runs off 6 balls) contributed runs.
YAC's Rakesh Th took 2 wickets. Rupeschandra and Th Chitaranjan took one wicket each.
In the second league match of the day, UCC Uripok won the toss and opted to bat first.
RNEF's fine bowling corroded all UCC wickets, forcing the team to score just 75 runs in 15.3 overs.
Thingom Bonard (15 runs off 21 balls), Sandeep (6 runs off 4 balls), Priyobratta (1 run off 2 balls), Joyshankar (18 runs off 28 balls), David (4 runs off 10 balls), Rajee Sharma (10 runs off 14 balls) and Manglem (5 runs off 8 balls) contributed runs to UCC's 75 in 15.3 overs.
RNEF's Priyokumar took 5 wickets. Jasobanta took 3 wickets, and Ramesh E took one wicket.
With an easy target in sight, RNEF's Jasobanta knocked 36 runs off 27 balls to help the team beat UCC.
Pungding (11 runs off 12 balls), Priyokumar (9 runs off 10 balls), Max Meitei (1 run off 3 balls) and Romeo (1 run off 1 ball) contributed runs to RNEF winning knock of 76 runs in 8.4 overs.
Priyokumar of RNEF (MICA) was named the man of the match.
