IMPHAL, Feb 6 : RD&PR Minister Yumnam Khem-chand returned to Imphal from Delhi this afternoon without any meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Yumnam Khemchand went to Delhi at the invitation of Amit Shah a few days back.
On Monday, Khemchand held a meeting with BJP North East in-charge Dr Sambit Patra. The two held another round of meeting on Wednesday evening.
With a no confidence motion looming large over the upcoming State Assembly session, Sambit Patra held separate meetings with some BJP Ministers/MLAs of the State including Y Khemchand at Delhi in an attempt to bury the discord among the BJP legislators.
On learning about Khemchand’s return, many journalists waited for his arrival at Imphal airport.
Khemchand landed at Imphal airport at around 1.05 pm in an Indigo flight  but he hurriedly left the airport by just saying “no comment’ to a flurry of questions raised by the journalists.
However, instead of going to his residence at Singjamei Yumnam Leikai, the RD&PR Minister went to Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata and the two held a meeting at the Speaker's office in the Assembly.
Sources said that at least 8 other MLAs were also present during the meeting the Speaker.
Although what Khem-chand, the MLAs and Satyabrata talked about could not be ascertained, it is being speculated that the two talked about Khemchand’s meeting with Sambit Patra.
Sources said that Heirok AC MLA of the BJP Thokchom Radheshyam is also scheduled to arrive here tomorrow ahead of the Assembly session, set to start from February 10.
