Ukhrul, Feb 5 : The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong ( Tangkhul student body) has reiterated its stand to back the directive of Naga Students' Federation (NSF) to not extend co-operation to the Indian armed forces or paramilitary forces in any form.
In a press release, the student body vehemently condemned the imposition of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA) - 1958 in their homeland.
Saying that imposition of AFSPA has precipitated terror in the hearts and minds of the Naga people over the decades apart from tormenting and victimising innocent Nagas with impunity, TKS reaffirmed the resolution of the Naga Students' Federation demanding repeal of AFSPA from Naga homeland.
Further, the Tangkhul student body directed that no individuals, organisations, institutions, forum/union under TKS jurisdiction shall associate/invite the Indian armed forces to any event or partake in any official event of the armed forces.
TKS called for strict compliance with the resolution of the NSF, failing which TKS will initiate disciplinary action against the violators.
