3 UG cadres held

IMPHAL, Feb 3: Three cadres belonging to different underground outfits have been arrested by security forces during the last 24 hours.
One KYKL cadre identified as Mayengbam Joychandra Singh (24) alias Boinao s/o M Nabachandra Singh of Wabagai Kadajit Maning Leikai, Kakching district was arrested by Kakching district commandos from Wabagai Bazar area this morning.
On spot interrogation, Joychandra alias Boinao allegedly admitted that he was involved in extortion from the general public of Kakching district, Thoubal district and Imphal West areas and presently working under KYKL district commander Ksh Jacob of Pallel.
Two mobile phones and one car (A Star) were seized from his possession.
Joychandra alias Boinao was later handed over to Hiyanglam police station along with the seized items.
In another incident, Kakching district commandos arrested a cadre of UPPK from Irengband Hawairou area this morning.
The UPPK cadre identified as Pheiroijam Thoiba Singh (23) alias Chalamba s/o Ph Manglem Singh alias Lairenpa of Irengband Hawairou Lai Mayai was later handed over to Kakching police station along with one mobile phone and a car (A Star) recovered from his possession.
Thoiba alias Chalamba reportedly disclosed that he was working under the command of one Cheina, self styled finance secretary of UPPK.
Meanwhile, a self-styled Captain of PREPAK(Pro) was apprehended by a combined team of Thoubal District Commandos and 4 Assam Rifles from Phouden under Yairipok police station at around 2.45 pm today.
The arrested man has been identified as one Sinam Yaima Meitei alias Chingakpa (45) s/o late S Lukhoi of Nongpok Sekmai Awang Leikai.
One four-wheeler (Tata Magic Iris), one mobile phone (keypad) and a key were recovered from his possession, sources said.
