SIM card racket busted

IMPHAL, Feb 3: Two frauds have been pulled up for forging documents and obtaining SIM cards using forged documents by Thoubal district police.
Acting on a reliable input, a team of Thoubal district police led by SDPO Th Dinesh pulled up one Dolaipabam Isha Ahmed (32) s/o late Md Siraj Ahmed alias Nahatomba of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai at around 4.30 pm on February 2.
Isha Ahmed runs a shop called DP Enterprises at Lilong Haoreibi Lairabakhong, sources said.
He reportedly disclosed that he forged documents, obtained SIM cards using forged documents and sold the SIM cards thus obtained fraudulently in association with Altab Hussain (33) s/o late Md Zaheruddin of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai.
Subsequently, Altab Hussain who runs ‘Altab Travel Agency’ at Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai was also pulled up.
One laptop (Lenovo) with charger, one MI Notebook Pro with charging cable, one Epson printer, one Canon printer, one lamination machine and one biometric machine were recovered on searching Altab Travel Agency, said the sources.
Moreover, one fake driving licence, two flexible blank PVC cards, 11 Aadhaar cards, three Ayushman Bharat cards and one PMJAY card were also recovered from the same agency.
An FIR has been registered against them at Lilong police station under Sections 318(3)/336(3)/308(3) and 3(5) of BNS, the sources added.
