Eminent personalities call on Governor

IMPHAL, Feb 3: Several eminent personalities called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan Imphal today.
Professor Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal called on the Governor this afternoon and apprised him about various academic activities taken up by the University, said PRO Raj Bhavan in a statement.
Professor W Chandbabu, Registrar, Manipur University (MU) along with three Professors called on the Governor and invited him to attend a National conference on Implications of Climate Change and Conservation of Natural Resources and Cultural Heritage to be held later this month.
The convention will jointly be organised by the Department of Life Sciences (Botany), MU and International Council for Biodeterioration of Cultural Property (ICBCP), Lucknow.
Dr Shailesh Kumar Chourasia, Secretary (Power Dept) and Usha S Nair, Vice Chancellor, National Sports University (NSU) along with other officers called on the Governor and briefed him on the progress of the construction work of the University at Koutruk in Imphal West.
They gave a comprehensive report on various issues and difficulties being faced by the companies that have been entrusted with the construction of the University.
Dr Swapan Kumar Kachop along with two other members of Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) called on the Governor this evening and apprised him on various humanitarian activities being done by the organisation in various parts of the State.
