Lecture on ill effects of drug abuse held

BISHNUPUR, Feb 3: Assam Rifles organized an awareness lecture on "Ill Effects of Drug Abuse" at Thambal Marik Degree College, Oinam in Bishnupur district today as part of its commitment to community welfare.
As per a press release issued by IGAR (S), the initiative aimed to educate and sensitize the local youth about the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle in the crucial phase of teenage life.
The session which highlighted the adverse effects of substance abuse on physical and mental health of an individual was attended by students and teachers.
The lecture also covered legal consequences, preventive measures and the role of family and society in combating drug addiction.
The session concluded with a pledge by the students promising to stay away from substance abuse.
