9th MNCA Elite Tournament PTRC cruise to fourth straight victory as CHAMP beat REYS for third win

IMPHAL, Feb 2 : PTRC, Patsoi Part IV sealed their fourth win on the trot in the 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament with a commanding 62-run victory over CRAU, Khamnam Bazar at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College playground.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, PTRC racked up 217 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 40 overs thanks to Chingakham Bidash's unbeaten half century knock (57 off 25 balls, 3 fours and 5 sixes) before they dismissed CRAU for 155 runs in 26 overs through a concerted bowling effort and earned the fourth win.
Loitongbam Shitaljit 33, Jotin Pheiroijam 25, Khangembam Santosh 23 and RK Rex 21 also made significant contributions in the first innings that saw Thongam Joychandra returned with a four wicket haul (4/59) and Lamabam Ajay picked two (2/25) for CRAU.
In reply, Ph Jodash scored a slow 84-ball 77 in a lost cause as Tamarland Pheiroijam (2/26), Khangembam Santosh (2/16) and Chingakham Bidash (2/16) shared 6 wickets and four others picked a wicket apiece.
Chingakham Bidash who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, CHAMP, Khagempalli earned their third win of four matches in the 11-team tournament by beating REYS, Khwai Nagamapal by 7 wickets.
CHAMP opted to field first and bundled out REYS for 99 runs in 25.2 overs riding on a concerted bowling effort from Md Ahsanul Kabir (3/10 in 5.2 overs), Thingbaijam Nicholson (2/6 in 2.4 overs) and Md Sultan Karim (2/11 in 5 overs). Nawaz then anchored with an unbeaten 50 off 87 balls (8 fours) to take the team to winning 101/3 in 27.3 overs.
Jaali Ahmed Chisti 23 was the highest run getter for REYS before Y Romario, L Kiran and Sapam Bikash picked a wicket apiece during the CHAMP's chase.
Md Sultan Karim who added 18 runs and picked 2 wickets was adjudged player of the match.
