IMPHAL, Feb 2 : Al-Ameen, Lilong; RCA, Lilong and AKSDO, Khangabok notched up their second straight group stage victories in the ongoing 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament today.
In a Group F match staged at Lairenjam Public Ground, Al-Ameen devastated RULE, Meitram by 290 runs by amassing a record total of 319 runs for 6 wickets in 30 overs and dismissing the later team for 29 runs in 11.3 overs.
Maibam Ashique scored a 49 ball 118, and Shohel Akter 40 and Pukhrimayum 35 made significant contributions to guide toss winners Al-Ameen to 31-9 before Awais picked 5 wickets for 5 runs in 2.3 overs to lead the RULE collapse.
Jor Khan (2/10) and Kh Tanaweer (2/4) also chipped in with two wickets apiece for Al-Ameen as Sanathoi Sanjenbam emerged the only double digit run scorer for RULE on 12 runs while 6 batters departed on ducks.
Meanwhile in a Group E match staged at Khudeibam Lampak in Taothong, MPA, Thounaojam pulled off a huge 214 run over RNEF, Mayang Imphal.
Chongtham Sitaranjan scored an unbeaten 130 off 81 balls and RNEF conceded 86 extras to inspire MPA a total of 273 runs for 3 wickets in the allotted 30 overs before Elangbam Sanatomba (3/8), Th Chinglensana (2/14) and Ch Yohenba (2/19) set up RNEF collapse at 59 runs in 11.3 overs.
Elsewhere at PTRC Ground in Patsoi Part IV, AKSDO posted their second win by thrashing YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel by 234 runs.
AKSDO piled up 298 runs for 7 wickets after electing to bat first courtesy of a 56-ball 77 from Chinglemba Elangbam, 61-ball 60 from Borish Khundrakpam and 60 extras before dismantling YUCC for 64 runs within 18.4 overs on the back of Bidyananda Ningthoujam (4/19), Bidyasagar Khundrakpam (3/9) and Shailesh Khundrakpam (2/8).
For YUCC, Shresth Oinam (3/48) and Jaheer (2/34) shared five wickets before Jaheer 13 and Shresth Oinam 11 not out emerged only double digit run getters in reply.
Meanwhile at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, RCA sealed a narrow 1 wicket win over KSDO, Kyamgei to seal their second straight victory.
KSDO opted to bat first but were dismissed for 90 runs in 24.3 overs before RCA struggled their way to winning 93 for 9 wickets in 28.2 overs.
Md Irfan of RCA fetched four wickets for 5 runs and Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain picked two wickets for 26 runs to set up KSDO collapse early on before Md Albas 22 and Khulakpam Kharif Hussain 20 not out ensured RCA the tight win despite remarkable bowling performances from KSDO's Kh Firdos (3/9 in 6 overs) and Md Shadik Israak Hussain (2/16).
