AK Bhalla greets

IMPHAL, Feb 14 : Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Manipur, particularly the Naga community, on the occasion of the vibrant Lui Ngai Ni festival, which falls on February 15.
In a message, the Governor said that Lui Ngai Ni is deeply rooted in tradition and has become a symbol of unity, not only for the Nagas, but also for the wider community fostering bonds of peace, harmony and inclusivity beyond cultural and religious line.
In celebration of Lui Ngai Ni, he urged people to unite in a spirit of togetherness and mutual respect and pray for lasting peace, harmony and progress for Manipur and its people.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata Singh also joined in conveying his best wishes to the people upon the arrival of the seed sowing festival celebrated by the Naga tribes of Manipur.
In his message, the Speaker said that the three words "Lui Ngai Ni" are taken from Tangkhul, Rongmei and Mao languages meaning "seed sowing festival".
Extending his greetings, he added that its is a special occasion to honour and appease the Gods of crops and to pray for the well-being of the people.
