IMPHAL, Feb 14: As preparations for the upcoming Class XI and XII examinations are nearly complete, COHSEM Chairman T Ojit has appealed against imposition of bandhs and blockades during the examination period beginning from February 17 to March 26, 2025.
Speaking to media persons at COHSEM Office in Babupara, T Ojit informed that a total of 29,065 students are set to appear in the Class XII examination, comprising 20,893 students in the Science stream, 7632 in Arts and 540 Commerce students.
Altogether, COHSEM has set up 112 exam centres, 38 in the hill areas and another 74 in the valley.
Meanwhile, 32,820 students from 229 educational institutions are going to sit for the Class XI examination 2025.
To facilitate the smooth conduct of the Class XII exam, 48 flying squads of three-members each have been formed to inspect the exam centres.
Additionally, volunteers from student bodies and other organisations in both the hills and valley will aid COHSEM in ensuring that the rules and regulations of the exam are not violated by conducting checks across the exam centres.
On another note, addressing cases of question paper leakage in previous years, the COHSEM Chairman said that the Council has taken up extensive preventive measures this time to curb this problem.
He also appealed to the students, teachers and parents to refrain from  using unfair means which can ruin students' academic careers.
In an effort to ensure that examination guidelines are followed in the hill areas, district officials have been engaged to conduct the examinations in consultation with the respective District Administration, he said.
This arrangement was made as COHSEM officials are unable to travel to certain areas owing to the ongoing conflict. The COHSEM Chairman has sought the support of the public and State organisations to ensure that the Class XI and XII exams are conducted smoothly and without any disruptions.
