Chose a new leader: Shiv Sena

IMPHAL, Feb 15: All BJP legislators of the suspended Assembly must tender their resignation if the BJP can't recommend a new Chief Minister within a week, said Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi today.
"As N Biren Singh has been "removed" as the Chief Minister, the BJP must recommend a new Chief Minister. If it cannot recommend a new CM within a week, then the remaining BJP legislators [of the suspended Assembly] must tender their resignation," M Tombi said, speaking to reporters at his office at Babupara.
Tombi asserted that the present arrangement and development in Manipur is akin to giving in to the demands of the Kukis.
The "ploy" against N Biren Singh "appears" to support Kukis' demand to remove him as the Chief Minister, he added.
The revolt of the BJP Ministers and MLAs have led to the suspension of the State Assembly (suspended animation). People who have been suffering from the "war" are now bearing the brunt of the "suspended animation", he said.
When village volunteers have lost lives and sacrificed, Ministers and MLAs have formed groups and they are lobbying for the post of CM, he added.
Expressing his suspicion if the Centre has a plan to reorganise Manipur like it did with Jammu & kashmir, M Tombi said, the legislators must choose a leader at the earliest and they must stop being dictated by the Central leaders.
Fighting for the CM post when the State is facing such a dire situation is highly uncalled-for behaviour, he said.
Manipur's territorial integrity must never be affected. Shiv Sena will never compromise with the State's territorial integrity, he added.
The President's Rule was imposed for a record 11th time in Manipur on February 13.
The PR was imposed days after N Biren Singh resigned as the Chief Minister.
