New CM likely after Modi returns

IMPHAL, Feb 14 : A successor to former Chief Minister N Biren may be named tomorrow.
Well placed sources said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive at Delhi from his foreign tour between 8.30 am and 9 am on Saturday.
The Prime Minister may hold a meeting with BJP Central leaders tomorrow afternoon or evening on the election of Chief Ministers of three States.
At the moment, three States viz; Delhi, Rajasthan and Manipur have been facing problems with regard to election of Chief Ministers.
In Delhi, as many as nine individuals have been contesting for the post of Chief Minister. Rajasthan too has been facing a similar problem. A meeting of BJP Central leaders may be held tomorrow on the election of Chief Ministers of these three States after the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Delhi, said the sources.
The sources maintained that the State Assembly will not remain under suspended animation for long.
Notably, the State Assembly was put under suspended animation with effect from February 13.
Chief Ministerial candidates of the three States are likely to be finalised in the next couple of days. As such, the successor of former Chief Minister N Biren may be known soon, said the sources.
