IMPHAL, Jan 31 : Firing at the Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong has entered the fifth day, with reports of more militants being killed.
The firing has been going on between KNA-B and Manipur based outfits since January 27.
A well placed source said that one cadre of Manipur based outfit and some Kuki militants were killed in the exchange of fire in between Border Pillars 85 and 86 today.
Though The Sangai Express could not indepen- dently verify the exact figure, reports said that four-five Kuki militants were gunned down today.
It is reported that Kuki militants and Manipur based outfits exchanged fire at five locations at the border areas last night.
The firing resumed at around 3.30 am today and continued till around 9 am.
It is also reported that the corpses of nine Kuki militants, including residents of Churachandpur and Kangpokpi who were killed a couple of days back at the border areas are still lying in between Border Pillar 85 and 86 despite multiple attempts by KNA-B cadres to retrieve them.
The sources claimed that the Kuki militants have been using sophisticated drones in the firefight and security personnel of a country are storing drone equipment, bombs and ammunition across the border on Myanmar side.
