THAU, FORCE post third wins in 2nd MNCA U-15 Women's One Day Trophy

IMPHAL, Feb 1 : THAU, Thangmeiband and FORCE, Kshetrigao posted their third wins in four matches of the ongoing 2nd MNCA U-15 Women's One Day Trophy.
At THAU ground, THAU racked up 267 for 5 wickets in 30 overs after being put in to bat first and bowled out toss winners PTRC for 33 runs in 15.2 overs to seal the 234-run victory.
Half century knocks from Thoithoibi Ahongsangbam 71 off 46 balls (9 fours and 1 six) and Kongjengbam Nonibala 50 not out off 30 balls (8 fours) and 54 extras led THAU to 267/5 in an innings that saw L Benita (2/33) and L Purnima (2/69) sharing 4 wickets.
Chasing 268 for the win, PTRC slumped to 33 all out as 6 batters including both the openers departed on ducks and L Sily emerged top scorer on 5 runs.
K Nonibala claimed 5 wickets conceding just 5 runs in her spell of 3 overs to eventually claim the player of the match trophy while RK Valentina picked two wickets for 2 runs in 2  overs.
Elsewhere at PCC ground, Mayaikoibi, FORCE notched up a 212 run win over YPHUC, Lalambung courtesy of Wakila Shahni, Farjiya and Nazmin Khanam.
FORCE opted to bat first and piled up 273 runs for 8 wickets in 30 overs riding on half centuries from  Wakila Shahni 57 off 93 balls and Farjiya 51 off 32 balls before Nazmin Khanam produced a fifer (5/14 in 5 overs) to dismantle YPHUC for 61 runs in 22 overs.
Suchitra Waikhom was pick of the YPHUC bowlers fetching 4 wickets for 49 runs in her spell of 6 overs.
Nazmin Khanam was adjudged player of the match.
