UG cadre held

IMPHAL, Feb 1: A com-bined team of Kakching commandos, Waikhong po-lice and BSF arrested one active cadre of KCP (Tai-bangnanga) from Lang- meidong Mamang Awang Leikai today.
According to sources, the operation was carried out based on intelligence reports provided by 46 Assam Rifles.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Leisang-them Rajesh Singh (30) alias Malemnganba, s/o Leishangthem Kullabidhu of Langmeidong Mamang Awang Leikai.
On interrogation, the arrested person disclosed that he is a vice chairman of the banned organization and was involved in extortion, recruitment of cadres and kidnapping activities in Kakching, Thoubal and Imphal West districts. Three mobile phones were seized from his possession. The arrested person has been handed over to Waikhong police station.
