Humanitarian aid extended

IMPHAL, Jan 9 : In a bid to provide a healing touch to those who have been displaced by ongoing conflict, UFO Central Headquarters distributed 300 double blankets at various relief camps on Thursday.
The blankets sponsored by Asha Darshan Tamulpur, BTR (Assam) were distributed at the relief camps opened at Mayang Imphal Pravabati College, Samurou High School, Manipur Trade & Expo Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong and Biramangol College, Sawombung.
Volunteers of UFO Central Headquarters also provided over a monetary aid of Rs 6,000 (sponsored by Asha Darshan Assam) to help the medical treatment of Ningthoukhongjam Usharani of Awang Sekmai, currently staying at the relief camp set up in Mayang Imphal Pravabati College.
The volunteers also provided monetary aid of Rs 15,000 along with a loom to help the internally displaced people staying at Biramangol College.
Moreover, in connection with the upcoming 37th Drivers' Day observation, Manipur Drivers' Association (MDA) has extended humanitarian assistance to the bereaved family of driver Late Asem Babu.
A team of MDA on Thursday visited the residence of Late Asem Babu at Samurou and handed over 3 bundles of GI sheets to his family.
The MDA team also provided monetary assistance to help the medical treatment of driver Konjengbam Sohodev of Kwakiethel Konjeng Leikai and Soibam ongbi Maipakpi, wife of Late Soibam Kumar (driver) of Takyel Khongbal.
The team included Saikhom Babudhon (president), Sanjoy Ksh (general secretary), S Ganga (advisor) and other members of MDA.
