IMPHAL, Jan 9 : Claiming that Uripok AC MLA Kh Raghumani has no connection with the show cause notice issued by police to Laishram David, the All Uripok Apex Body has imposed an indefinite boycott on four persons, including David, who are involved in boycotting the MLA.
Addressing media persons at the Uripok AC MLA's residence today, L Romen Kumar, advisor, Uripok Apex Body said that the organisation has boycotted Hijam Nabakanta, secretary, Lamphel Sanakeithel Development Authority; Loitongbam Gambhir, secretary, Awa Tengbang Lup; Nongmaithem Binapani, secretary, Sanakeithel Nupi Kanglup and Laishram David who are involved in the social boycott of the MLA and restricting his entry in Lamphel Sanakeithel area.
Stating that the MLA has been wrongly accused in the matter, he maintained that it is a politically motivated attempt to tarnish Kh Raghumani's reputation and paint him in a false light before the public. He claimed that Uripok Apex Body met with representatives of Lamphel Sanakeithel Development Authority today to resolve the matter but did not receive a positive response from LSKDA.
Regarding the show cause notice, L Romen Kumar, said that police have CCTV footage of Laishram David along with a few individuals vandalizing the Uripok AC MLA's residence on November 16.
The police must have issued the show cause notice based on the footage as many others involved in the vandalism of State legislators' residences in other Constituencies were also arrested by police, he said.
MLA Kh Raghumani did not file an FIR against any individual for causing damage to his property, he clarified.
Notably, the Uripok Apex Body advisor added that Laishram David also demanded money from the MLA, as allegedly disclosed by Kh Raghumani himself.
