Village chief seeks legal action

KANGPOKPI, Jan 8: The chief of Leilon Khunou village, Haopu Vaiphei, has formally reported a case of "land encroachment" to the Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi urging immediate intervention to prevent further escalation. The complaint alleged that Aimson Abonmai, a resident of Konsakhul village, along with others, conducted land leveling activities on January 6 in an area which "lies within the jurisdiction of Leilon Khunou village" and "without prior knowledge or consent of the landowner". Stating that the issue has stirred unrest among the local community, Vaiphei in his complaint expressed fear of potential conflict if the matter remains unresolved. He sought immediate legal action to address the issue and restore peace.
