Army organised 4th Kangla Ukok Football Tournament concludes

IMPHAL, Jan 8
The 4th Kangla Ukok 5-A-Side Football Tournament organised by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Changamdabi Club  at Changamdabi in Imphal East district from December 18, 2024 concluded yesterday.
26 teams from different regions participated in the tournament that culminated with an intense final, where John FC triumphed over Cub FC by 2-1 goals, said PRO, Ministry of Defence in a statement.
Over 2,000 spectators from Imphal East and Thoubal districts attended the final ceremony.Th Shyamkumar, MLA, Andro Assembly Constituency was the chief guest on the occasion and led in handing over trophies and medals to meritorious teams and players.
The tournament, which had been affected by ethnic clashes in previous years, was revived with the support of the Indian Army, fostering unity, identifying talent, and strengthening community ties, the statement added.
