Miscreants spreading rumours to create enmity will be tracked: CM

IMPHAL, Jan 8 :  Chief Minister N Biren Singh of Manipur has issued a strong warning against individuals spreading rumours on social media aimed at creating enmity between communities.
Addressing the issue in a public statement, the Chief Minister said, "I have come to know that some miscreants are spreading rumours through social media to create enmity between two communities. I have instructed concerned departments to find out who are the culprits."
The Chief Minister emphasized the State Government's commitment to maintaining communal harmony and vowed to take stringent action against those attempting to disrupt peace in the region.
In addition to addressing these concerns, CM Biren Singh highlighted the Government's ongoing efforts to support those affected by recent communal unrest.
"Today, we are distributing Rs 5000 each to the 5225 displaced persons who are living in relief camps. Another 80 people are getting Rs 10,000," he announced.
The financial assistance is part of a broader initiative to provide immediate relief to families who have been uprooted from their homes due to the crisis.
The Government has also pledged to continue providing essential services and exploring long-term rehabilitation measures for displaced individuals.
The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of unity and appealed to the public to verify information before sharing it on social media.
