IMPHAL, Jan 8 : A meeting on cessation of LPG transportation between the Government and transporters ended inconclusively again today. The meeting which began from 6 pm  at the conference hall of the Old Secretariat today was attended by Commissioner  (Home) Ashok Kumar  and representatives of All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporter Association (AMBTA),  Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) State level coordinator and manager of the IOCL gas bottling plant at Sekmai.
From the Government side, Ashok Kumar requested the protesters to suspend their protest for at least fifteen days so as to work together to address their grievances during the period. The transporters, however, rejected the  proposal and urged the Government to focus on resolving their problem.
A constitution of a sub-committee to exchange views on the demand being raised by transporters was also discussed during the meeting. The transporters again rejected the proposal to form a sub committee, thereby ending the meeting without reaching any agreement. It is reported that the gas bottling is unaffected by the cease work strike of AMBTA as the bottling plant refilled 20 truck loads of refilled cylinders today.
