IMPHAL, Jan 7 : PCC, Mayaikoibi made their way into the final of the 5th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2024-25 with a 32-run victory over ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound today at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong.
PCC won the toss and gathered 161 before being dismissed for 161 runs in 30.2 overs by ESU. ESU however had a forgettable chase with wicket falling down in regular intervals before succumbing at 129 in 30.5 overs.
Lucky Thokchom starred with both the bat and ball for the winning side as he struck a half century (77 off 68 balls; 9 fours and 2 sixes) before securing three wickets (3/24) to set up the ESU collapse along with Leishangthem Nelson who also picked three wickets (3/24) and W Maverick (2/31) who finished with a two wicket haul.
Simon Konthoujam 18 and Rojer Laishram 15 also made double digit scores for PCC in the innings that saw Soibam Venus (3/25) and Hanjabam Donba Sharma (2/24) sharing five wickets while four others picked a wicket apiece.
In reply, Hanjabam Donba and Thokchom Simesh added identical 27 runs while Devashree G 10, Hanjabam Naoba 17 and Soibam Venus 16 added 43 runs together in a lost cause.
Lucky Thokchom was eventually adjudged player of the match.
