IMPHAL, Jan 7 : The Churachandpur Meitei United Committee (CMUC) has urged the Government to expeditiously disburse a special package for the students taking refuge in relief camps as assured preferably by January 31.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club today, CMUC president Hemam Jogendro Meitei said that a new academic session will begin shortly and as such it is time for the parents to admit their children to schools and buy  books and other study material for them.
Appealing to the Government to provide the promised special package for the displaced students, he also urged all private schools and colleges to give enough days for the displaced students to admit given the circumstances they have been facing.
For Government schools, only showing the identity cards provided to displaced people in relief camps by the Government is enough to get some benefits, he said and added that there, however, are many other students who take refuge at their  friends' or relatives' places and are not enrolled at any relief camp.
