IMPHAL, Jan 7: Around 300 men and women from Manipur have fallen victims to frauds and are currently caught in a limbo at Noida, Sector 143, Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here this afternoon, Federation of Indigenous People’s Democratic Movement (FIPDM) president Wa-hengbam Shanta said that a group  of frauds took a number of people outside the State with a promise of jobs which would earn them fat salaries.
However, instead of giving jobs, the frauds asked the victims to mobilize more people and create a network.
Around 300 people from Manipur who were taken to Noida with the false promise of jobs are currently caught in a limbo at Noida, Shanta said.
He said that these people went to Noida by spending Rs one lakh to six lakh with the hope of securing jobs there.
Now these people are facing accommodation problems and no separate arrangement is made for the women, Shanta said. Saying that FIPDM would submit a representation to the DGP on the matter, Shanta asked all the frauds who have been victimising innocent people to come to the office of FIPDM within five days.
