Khelo Bharat carries forward sporting competitions

Khelo Bharat, after organising a basketball competition yesterday at Ruda Academy in Thoubal , carried forward its sporting activities by organising a Badminton competition at the Nambol Khoiriphaba Indoor Stadium today in association with Nambol Badminton Association.
The event graced by Pradeep Sekhawat, Khelo Bharat All India in-charge; Dr Santosh Laishram, Khelo Bharat Manipur on-charge and RK Yaikhomba Singh, State joint secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad as dignitaries brought together talented players and sports enthusiasts, said ABVP office secretary in a release.
The competition aimed to encourage sportsmanship and provide a platform for young talents to showcase their skills in badminton, it said.
Speaking at the event, Pradeep Sekhawat emphasized the importance of sports in building discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among youth while Dr Santosh Laishram highlighted Khelo Bharat's efforts in promoting grassroots sports activities in Manipur, a state known for its vibrant sports culture, it said.
Following the competition, the NSS Unit of Mangolnganbi College, in collaboration with Khelo Bharat, organized a youth engagement program, it said.
The event sought to inspire young people to participate actively in sports and community-building activities, it said.
