RCA cruise into 4th MNCA Superplate final, earn Elite promotion

IMPHAL, Jan 5 : RCA, Lilong cruised into the 4th MNCA  Superplate Tournament final and earned their promotion to Elite group with a 6-wicket win over WYC, Wangkhem in the first semi-final match today.
WYC opted to bat first but could not withstand disciplined bowling performance from RCA bowlers and slumped to 111 all out in 26.2 overs.
RCA then chased down the target in 26.2 overs with 6 wickets left to spare thanks to Syed Hussain's 58-ball 56.
For WYC, Wangkhem Samungou struck a slow 78-ball 57, highest by any batters in the team as Ruhit Nongmaithem added 14.
Zamir Khan shone with the ball for RCA emerging with the best figures of 4/18 in his spell of 7 overs while Md Danish finished with 2/19 in 4 overs. Zuned (1/12), Md Nasirshah Alam Nongjaimayum (1/14), Aziz Mirza (1/21) and Naesh Hussain (1/24) of RCA also picked a wicket apiece.
In the chase, Syed Hussain scored an unbeaten 56 off 58 balls studded with 7 fours to take RCA to winning 113/4 after Md Alfash 20, Md Imran Khan 16 and Md Anush 13 fell down to Huirongbam Biteshwor (2/25) and Gotimayum Mangi Sharma (1/22) of WYC.
Zamir Khan of RCA was adjudged player of the match.
Group B winners YWC, Langthabal will play Group A runners up CDCC, Sagolband in the next semi-final match tomorrow for the remaining final and elite promotion berth.
