IMPHAL, Jan 3 : KCDO, Kongpal capped their Group A league campaign in the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament with a 134-run thrashing of RRCC, Churachandpur at Lairenjam Public Ground.
The result lifted KCDO to second place in the Group table with 6 wins in 8 matches and remain in the hunt for the knock-out round.
KCDO amassed 262 runs for 7 wickets after electing to bat first in the allotted 35 overs and bundled out RRCC, Churachandpur for 128 runs in 29.1 overs.
Md Ajizur Rahman (73 off 53 balls) and Ksh Devendro (71 off 64 balls) scored half centuries for KCDO in their innings as Bikram Phandom 37 and Hafiz Imran 35 not out made significant contributions.
For RRCC, Bineto (2/60), L Pravin Kumar (2/44) and Louriyam Elan (2/39) shared 6 wickets as Md Irfan picked one wicket (1/42).
Netajit Konsam (3/17) and Ksh Devendro (3/41) and Ksh Dayananda (2/22) then ran riot to dismantle RRCC in the chase. Louriyam Elan 40 and Bineto 26 were the only double digit run getters for RRCC.
Ksh Devendro who produced an all round performance was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, SU, Sagolband beat THAU, Thangmeiband by 3 wickets in their penultimate (7th) Group A match.
THAU gathered 197 before losing all wickets in 31 overs as they opted to bat first but SU posted winning 199 in 25 overs with 3 wickets left to spare.
Khundrakpam Aden 40, Ngangbam Malesh 23 and Somorjit 20 led the scoring for THAU in their innings in which Takhellambam Herojit (2/36), Karam Kennedy (2/29), Keisham Anderson (2/23) and Hijam Mex (2/26) shared 8 wickets between them.
In reply, H Max (29) and K Kennedy (38) handed SU a steady start before Loitongbam Naoton (34 not out) and Angom Alen (26 not out) combined well to add 42 runs for the 8th wicket partnership and take SU to winning 199. Kh Romesh picked 6 wickets by conceding 39 runs in his spell of 7 overs for THAU but his effort went in vain.
Karam Kennedy who added 38 runs and picked two wickets was eventually adjudged player of the match.
