Sub-Junior Boys FootballAnandamoyee Club beat CKC on penalties to book final ticket

IMPHAL, Jan 3 : Ananda-moyee Club, Jirighat defeated CKC, Chingdongleikai by 5-4 goals on penalties after a 2-2 regulation time draw to enter the final of the ongoing 18th N Horichoron Memorial Sub-Junior Boys (U-15) Football Tournament organised by the All Jiribam Sports Association.
It was a neck and neck encounter as league winners CKC conceded their lead before staging a comeback in the second half to make it 2-2 with Anandamoyee Club, who finished fourth in the league table, and extended the match to the penalty shoot-out. Sohail gave CKC the lead after 6 minutes but Anarul and Prokash took their turns to score respectively in the 8th and the 10th minute to give Anandamoyee Club a 2-1 first half lead.
Hardworking CKC however made their way back into the game through Abdul Mojit's 63rd minute strike but they went down in the penalty shoot-out as Romesh who made the first shot failed to convert.
Prokash, Anarul, Raja, Anish K and Arif all scored for Anandamoyee Club in the shoot-out while Tayap, Sohail, Abdul Mojit and Suraj converted after Romesh missed his shot.
League runners up SBYC, Seakbosti will play KMYC who finished third in the league table in the second semi-final match tomorrow at Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground.
