RPF condoles, pays fitting salutes

IMPHAL, Jan 30: The proscribed RPF and its armed wing PLA have condoled the demise of its cadre Henthoiba.
According to a press release issued by the outfit’s  Assistant Secretary, Publicity Bangkim, Henthoiba was killed in an attack allegedly planned by Special Forces of the Indian Army on January 27, 2025.
Expressing deepest respect to the selfless sacrifice made by Henthoiba, RPF has mourned his demise and offered revolutionary salute to the martyr.
RPF and its armed wing PLA have also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family, relatives and friends of Henthoiba.  Acknowledging his courage and sacrificial spirit, RPF has posthumously promoted Henthoiba to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
2nd Lieutenant Henthoiba, known as Nganba Meetei was the youngest of three siblings born to Salam Inaobi Meetei and Salam (ongbi) Ibecha Leima of Komnao Makha Leikai, Kakching district.
2nd Lt Henthoiba completed PLA’s basic military training on September 20, 2023 and the War Office gave him the army number A-3362.
At the time of joining RPF/PLA, 2nd Lt Henthoiba said that he was joining the liberation to liberate Manipur from foreign occupation, according to the outfit.
Considering his athletic character, deftness and talents, Henthoiba was selected to be a training instructor and he underwent the instructor course.
After completing the course, 2nd Lt Henthoiba served as an instructor at a PLA’s training centre, the outfit said.
2nd Lt Henthoiba was a combatant who was always cool, composed, diligent and driven by a strong sense of discipline.
At all the units and departments where he was posted, 2nd Lt Henthoiba worked tirelessly to accomplish every task entrusted to him.
The outfit said that 2nd Lt Henthoiba discharged his duties unwaveringly till his last breath for the cause of the people’s liberation movement.
