Two of Manipur based outfits killed at border

IMPHAL, Jan 30 : Two cadres of Manipur based rebel groups were killed in a firefight with Kuki militants (Myanmar based) at Indo-Myanmar border in Kamjong today. The identities of the deceased, however, could not be confirmed as of yet.
The gunfight has been going on since January 27.
A credible source said that there was a heavy gunfight between KNA-B and Manipur based outfits the whole night yesterday near Border Pillar 87 and the same continued till today evening with regular intervals.
It is reported that the Manipur based rebel groups pushed the Kuki militants deep inside Myanmar territory.
KNA-B has been launching relentless attacks on Manipur based armed groups using drones, mortar shells and other sophisticated weapons.
During the gunfight, two cadres of the Manipur based rebel groups were killed, one at around noon and another in the evening.
Nine Kuki militants including residents of Churachandpur and Kangpokpi were also killed in the exchange of fire yesterday.
