9th MNCA Elite Tournament PTRC beat SCCC for three of three wins as CHAMP seal second win

IMPHAL, Jan 29 : PTRC, Patsoi Part IV beat SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai for three of three wins in the 11-team 9th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament as CHAMP, Khagempalli sealed second win in three matches by beating Model Club, Chingamakha by 4 wickets.
At Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, PTRC opted to field first and bundled out SCCC for 136 runs in 40 overs and cruised to the target in 21.4 overs thanks to an unbeaten 53-run 5th wicket partnership between  Ngariyanbam Jameson (59-ball 70) and Jotin Pheiroijam (25-ball 31).
Earlier in the first innings, Biswhorjit Konthoujam claimed three wickets for PTRC to subdue SCCC batters as RK Rex, Jotin Pheiroijam, Chingakham Bidash and Laitonjam James picked a wicket apiece.
Ulenyai Khwairakpam 30 and Moirangthem Thomas 26 were the leading run getters for SCCC before Moirangthem Thomas (2/40) and Khaidem Joyraj (2/29) picked two wickets apiece.
Ngariyanbam Jameson who added a crucial 70 was adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, CHAMP defeated Model Club by 4 wickets riding on Md Ahsanul Kabir's four wicket haul.
Put in to bat first, Model Club were bundled out for 120 in 37.5 overs as Ahsanul Kabir (4/15 in 8 overs), Chingakham Ranjan (2/22) and Thingbaijam Nicholson (2/22) shared a bulk of 8 wickets to set up the collapse.
Langlonyamba 32 and four other batters of Model Club managed double digit figures in this innings before Yumnam Karnajit 42 and N Gulson 31 made big contributions to lead CHAMP to winning 124 in 29.2 overs with 4 wickets left to spare. L Robertson (2/23) and M Langlonyamba (2/15) of Model Club shared four wickets in the second innings.
Ahsanul Kabir who led the CHAMP bowling attack was adjudged player of the match.
