IMPHAL, Jan 29 : NCA, Nambol; RCA, Lilong; SHADOW, Thangmeiband and Al-Ameen, Lilong opened their league campaign in the 4th MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament on winning notes today at four venues.
In the Group F match staged at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part IV, Shohel Akter scored an unbeaten 114 off 93 balls to hand Al-Ameen a 4-wicket win over TRAU, Kwakeithel.
Opting to bat first TRAU amassed 190 runs for 5 wickets thanks to Keisham Yaikhomba's unbeaten 51 off 76 balls and contributions from Tyrus Chabungbam 48, Potsangabam Jeet 30 and Treeny Arubam 27 not out.
Al-Ameen's Awais (2/33) picked two wickets in this innings as Maibam Ashique, Jor Khan and Bogimayum Azmat picked a wicket apiece.
In reply, Shohel Akter blazed 19 fours and 2 sixes to anchor with an unbeaten 114 and set up the Al-Ameen win in 28.3 overs. The innings saw M Ringku (2/42) and Tyrus Chabungbam (2/39) pick two wickets apiece while A Rainson and P Jeet picked up a wicket apiece.
In a Group B match staged at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong, RCA pulled off a huge 184-run victory against LCC, Lamsang.
RCA racked up 229 runs for 9 wickets after being let to bat first thanks to N Masud Alam's 35-ball 64, Md Irfans 39-ball 43 and 58 extras.
RCA then bowled out LCC for 45 runs in 18 overs riding on concerted bowling efforts from H Albaz Hussain (2/2), H Lucky Ahmed (2/13), Md Irfan (2/4) and Farhan Ahmed (2/2).
At Lairenjam Public Ground, SHADOW prevailed over MPA, Thounaojam by 84 runs courtesy of Sagatpam Telheiba's all round show.
Telheiba 59, Kh Devis 44, A Goshan led toss winners SHADOW to 204 for 9 wickets in the allotted 30 overs before Telheiba (4/22) and Tomthinganba Rajkumar (3/22) shared 7 wickets to dismantle chasing MPA for 120 runs in 25.4 overs.
For MPA, Ch Sitaranjan (3/32), Ch Priyokumar (2/22) and Th Chinglensana (2/30) shared 7 wickets before Ch Priyokumar 30 and Th Chinglensana 28 led the chase in a lost cause.
Meanwhile at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, NCA notched up their first Group A win by handing a 99-run defeat to CYSA, Khangabok.
NCA rode on knocks from Anderson Naorem 50, MK Leishemba 32 and Th Rahul 26 and 48 extras to pile up 182/8 in 30 overs and bowled out CYSA for 83 runs riding on Thiyam Bikash (5/19) and Thingbaijam Avinash (4/24).
Wangmayum Khursijafar was pick of the CYSA bowlers  as he picked four wickets by conceding 49 runs in 6 overs before Phundreimayum Soheb emerged highest run getter for the team with 22 runs in the chase. Thiyam Bikash was adjudged player of the match.
