NHIDCL hosts free eye camp
Imphal, Jan 28 : In line with the observance of Road Safety Week 2025, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) organized a free eye testing camp near Kangla Fort in Imphal.
The camp was aimed at raising awareness about road safety and the crucial role of good vision in preventing road accidents, said a statement issued by NHIDCL Regional Office, Imphal, Manipur.
A total of 200 individuals availed benefits from the camp.
The event was graced by Prashant Kumar Singh, (IAS), Chief Secretary and N Ashok Kumar, (IAS), Home Commissioner of Manipur as the chief guests.
Their presence underscored the importance of community health initiatives in promoting safer road practices.
In the opening address, Executive Director (P), NHIDCL appreciated the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur and Manipur Police for their cooperation.
The eye camp provided free eye tests and consultations to the local residents and commuters along with distribution of prescription glasses to those in need.
