Cervical cancer awareness program held
IMPHAL, Jan 28 : In observance of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, a one-day cervical cancer awareness program was held at GP Women’s College, Imphal today.
The program was organised by the Hospital Based Cancer Registry (HBCR) and Population Based Cancer Registry (PBCR) under the Department of Pathology, RIMS Imphal.
The primary audience for the program included the students of the GP Women’s College, Imphal, along with teaching faculties. A total of 125 participants attended the program.
The event commenced with a welcome and keynote address delivered by Dr Sushma Khuraijam, Professor and Head of the Department of Pathology, RIMS.
The program featured a series of informative talks delivered by distinguished speakers on topics covering various aspects of cervical cancer.
Dr Laishram Rajesh, Professor, Department of Pathology, RIMS, and Co-Principal Investigator of HBCR & PBCR under ICMR-NCDIR, Bengaluru delivered a lecture on "Cervical Cancer Burden and Causes" and Dr Sorokhaibam Babina, Professor, Department of Pathology, RIMS, and Co-Principal Investigator of HBCR under ICMR-NCDIR, Bengaluru on "Screening, Diagnosis and vaccination of Cervical Cancer".
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Haobam Satyajyoti Singh, Medical Research Officer, PBCR, under ICMR-NCDIR, Bengaluru.
