Arms seized

IMPHAL, Jan 25 : Security forces seized a cache of arms and ammunition from Thongjao Mamang Ching under Waikhong Police Station today.
According to police, a combined team of Kakching commando, Assam Rifles  and BSF personnel carried out a  search operation at Thongjao Mamang Ching and found a plastic bag containing the arms and ammunition in a secluded area.
The recovered arms and ammunition include one .303 modified Sniper rifle with three live rounds, one Airgun rifle with sling, three hand grenades, two detonators, four live rounds of AK rifle, four live rounds of 7.62 ammunition, three live rounds of 9mm pistol, 20 empty cases of AK rifle, one empty case of INSAS rifle, one empty magazine of Carbine, five tear smoke shells, one tear smoke grenade, one Baofeng handset with a charger and one bulletproof helmet.
The recovered items have been handed over to Waikhong police station.
