R-Day greetings pour in from all over

IMPHAL, Jan 25 : Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Speaker Th Satyabrata, MAHUD Minister Y Khemchand, Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar and Mayang Imphal AC MLA K Robindro have conveyed  their greetings to the people on the eve of Republic Day 2025.
In his message, the Governor said that the experiment of democracy in India has been a remarkable success as the country goes from strength to strength among the league of Nations.
"On this occasion, we revere and offer our homage to the founding fathers for their foresight  and wisdom," Ajay Bhalla said.
Saying that India is poised to become one of the leading Nations of the world, he appealed to the people to strive to make India a strong, peaceful and prosperous country.
N Biren, on the other hand, said that Republic Day commemorates the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1950.
Stating that Republic Day is a celebration of the ethos and spirit of India, he added that the celebration will be meaningful 'when we understand the broad features of our Constitution and what it provides for each one of us.'
The Constitution provides space for every person to grow and develop and participate in various walks of life with freedom of choice, the Chief Minister said.
Greeting the people, the Speaker urged all to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and the visionaries who laid the foundation for a democractic Nation.
Extending his greetings, Basanta Kumar said that adoption of the Constitution has been the cornerstone of 'our democracy' and the guiding light for the country's progress and development.
"On this Republic Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to the principles enshrined in our Constitution and work toward building a prosperous, peaceful and harmonious Manipur," he appealed.
Y Khemchand also extended his best wishes to all the countrymen on the occasion.
"It is a day of pride for all of us, so let us all cherish and nurture Republic Day," the  Minister said.
MLA K Robindro, in his greetings, saluted the freedom fighters who freed the country from the colonial regime.
