Symposium held
IMPHAL, Jan 25: TS Paul Manipur Women's College celebrated World Wetlands Day with a College Level Symposium on the theme, "Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future" at its premises in Mongshangei.
The symposium was jointly organised by the Eco-Club, IQAC, and the Department of Environmental Science of T S Paul Manipur Women's College.
According to a release issued by the college, the event aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of wetlands conservation and sustainable management.
Students from various departments, including Zoology, Botany, Biotechnology, Economics, and Environmental Science, actively participated in the discussions.
Ksh Devendra Singh, Principal of T S Paul Manipur Women's College said, "Wetlands are crucial ecosystems that support biodiversity and provide numerous ecological services. It's essential for students to understand their significance and take action to protect them".
The symposium concluded with a pledge by the participants to make a positive impact on wetlands conservation.
